Scene One
[Scene
opens with Sarah arriving at Jake and Josh’s place in her car. She’s on the
phone talking to Kelly]
SARAH:
Ok, I’m going in.
KELLY:
Make
sure you get every detail, okay? I need to know who the mystery girl is.
SARAH:
Don’t
worry. I know those two boys so well, you’ll be surprised how much control I
have over them.
KELLY:
I
hope so.
SARAH:
It’s
gonna happen. You two belong together.
KELLY:
Thanks Sarah.
SARAH:
I
gotta go. I’ll talk to you later.
[Exits her car, walks to the front door and enters without warning. Jake, Josh and Zack are
lounging]
JOSH:
Seriously! What is your problem Sarah?
SARAH:
Hi
everyone!
[Smiles]
JAKE:
What
do you want?
SARAH:
We
need to talk.
JAKE:
It’s
getting late Sarah. You should go home.
SARAH:
Mom
and Dad know I’m here.
JOSH:
We
don’t want you here!
SARAH:
No
need to be rude guys. I’m not here for long. I just came to tell Jake that he should get his act
together by going out with Kelly.
JAKE:
Excuse me?
SARAH:
Dump
whoever you’re seeing! Who is she anyway?
JOSH:
I
never thought this day would come.
[Stands]
We are in agreement Sarah!
ZACK:
Wow.
JAKE:
You
don’t know her. She is amazing. She is humble, she is smart…
SARAH:
But
poor. She will never be at Kelly's level.
JAKE:
I’d
rather die for Flora than live with that conniving lunatic.
SARAH:
Hey!
She’s my friend! If this is about the tape…
[Zack cuts her off]
ZACK:
She
did it! We all know the truth.
JOSH:
I
don’t.
JAKE:
Let’s go Zach.
[Both Zack and Jake walk out the door]
SARAH:
Where are you going?
[Shouting]
We are
not done talking!
[Jake and
ZacK exit the house, get into Jake’s car and drive off]
JOSH:
How’s
the party planning going?
SARAH:
[Points
at Josh]
Urggh! Your English accent makes me sick! Excuse me!
[Leaves the house]
JOSH:
I’m
on your side Sarah! Talk to me baby sister.
[Laughs]
Scene Two
[Scene opens with Celeste & Julia continuing their conversation in the lounge]
CELESTE:
Dead bodies for what?
JULIA:
Rituals. Things like voodoo, black magic, whatever you want to call it – he
does it all.
[Laughs]
CELESTE:
It’s not funny Julia!
[Annoyed]
JULIA:
I’m
laughing at you. The look on your face is priceless.
CELESTE:
Why didn’t you do anything about it?
JULIA:
I
was scared. I knew he wanted to kill Flora and I had to protect her. I had to
keep quiet.
CELESTE:
Does he know that you know?
JULIA:
I
think he does. He wants Flora’s blood. He is after her. He always was.
CELESTE:
Kwame,
of all people. He seemed like such a gentleman.
JULIA:
Yes
he did. You and I are not the only ones that fell for him. He has done this to
a lot of people.
CELESTE:
[Hugs Julia]
I’m sorry you had to go through all of that, alone.
JULIA:
Oh,
I had baby Flora by my side. She was so well behaved the whole time.
CELESTE:
I’m not surprised. She is a darling.
[Pauses]
So what’s next? What are you
going to do this time around?
JULIA:
[Sighs]
We have no choice. We have to leave
Carrensdale as soon as possible.
