The following is the final part of the second chapter.
Scene One
[Scene opens at Sarah’s party at the Roosevelt Mansion’s outdoor party venue, dance music is playing]
Sarah:
I told you my dance instructor was not just a pretty face.
Kelly:
Well I gotta admit that that move was slickly done.
[Notices Wendy arriving]
Oh look what the wind blew in.
Sarah:
[Turns to look at Wendy]
Wait, where’s Flora?
[Celeste and Julia arrive at the party area, Kate notices, and walks up to them]
Kate:
Welcome Celeste. Glad you could make it.
Celeste:
You look good too, Kate. This is my sister Julia.
Kate:
Julia? Julia Camry?
Julia:
Hello Katherine.
[Kate almost chokes on her drink and walks away giggling]
[On another side of the party venue]
[Jake takes a shot]
Zach:
Hey, take it easy man. Has Flora called yet?
Jake:
She said she is not coming. She said she needs to rest.
Zach:
Is that why you’re…
[Jake suddenly loses balance, Zack catches him]
Hey, Jake.
Jake:
I think I need to lie down.
Zach:
You think?
[Annoyed]
Jake:
Hey, do you mind walking me to one of the guest rooms?
Zach:
Let’s go.
[Across the area, Sarah and Kelly notice Zach assisting Jack into the mansion]
Sarah:
Okay. Now go get ready.
Kelly:
I hope you didn’t give him something that would make him sleep throughout.
Sarah:
Of course I didn’t.
[Scans the room and checks her pockets]
Shit!
Kelly:
Don’t tell me you forgot…
[Sighs]
Sarah:
It’s in my room. I’ll bring it to the guest room.
[Sarah and Kelly dash out of the party area unnoticed]
[Roger stands on one of the platforms to make an announcement a few minutes later]
Roger:
Excuse me everyone? May I have your attention please?
[The chattering subsides]
Thank you.
[Takes a deep breath]
Firstly, I’d like to thank you all for making it to my daughter’s birthday party. It means so much to me and my family that you adore her as much as we do. Having said so, I’d like to now ask Sarah to come join me here so that we all wish her a happy birthday and unveil her cake. How does that sound?
[The guests cheer]
Great. Umm Sarah, honey, where you at?
[A few of the guests giggle]
Honey boo. Girlfriend? Hello?
[Roger silently asks Kate to check for her. Kate hurriedly heads into the mansion. Roger speaks a few moments later]
My wife Kate will go inform her of our plans tonight. She must be in the restroom or something. Anyway, whilst waiting for our birthday girl, I’d like...
[A loud scream is heard from inside the mansion]
[Roger rushes into the mansion, and then into the foyer. A few of the guests follow him into the foyer. Kate is kneeling on the floor, in the foyer, crying out loud]
Kate:
My baby girl! No! No!
[Scene ends with Sarah’s head, tied to a rope and hanging from the foyer’s grand chandelier, her arms and legs cutoff, blood is dripping]
Scene Two
[Scene opens with Julia and Celeste entering the Camry Residence’s living room]
Julia:
What a crazy night it’s been.
Celeste:
Yea.
[She takes a seat]
I am beginning to feel sorry for Kate. No-one deserves to suffer like that.
Julia:
I’m gonna go check on Flora. Do you mind making us some tea?
[Julia heads upstairs, Celeste heads into the kitchen]
[Julia knocks on Flora’s door]
Flora sweetie. Flora.
[She opens the door to enter the room and fails to locate Flora before she checks for her in the bathroom. She then returns to Flora’s room]
Flora honey.
[She then notices a black garbage bag on Flora’s bed which she hadn't seen]
[Speaks to herself]
Wait, that wasn't... I must be really exhausted.
[She steps forward to open the plastic bag]
Aahhh!
[Scene ends with Julia screaming whilst moving away from the bed, before tripping, and then falling to the bedroom floor]
