HOT ON TV

Devious Maids on Lifetime is not a guilty pleasure; it’s MUST SEE TV!

The third season of this Marc Cherry production starts on the first of June in the United States – I can’t wait!

When Desperate Housewives (which is also a Marc Cherry production that aired on ABC) ended a few years ago, I became the angriest person alive. The series had the most watched series finale of 2012. Who tops that?

Thank God Devious Maids is doing well. The show is slowly becoming the ultimate television series that features all female leads. Those women portraying those sassy ladies on screen may not be as good as the ladies of Desperate Housewives but they surely know how to ‘educate’ us on the dangers of messing with a Latino Woman, LOL.

The first and second seasons were outstanding. The Enzer’s World (E.W.) Board recognizes Devious Maids as one of the Top TV Series of the 2nd E.W. Year and they (and myself) do not regret that decision. The writers of this series give the word DRAMA a whole new meaning. If you think I’m bluffing, then check out a few episodes. I’m sure you’ll get addicted from the get-go.

E.W. RECOGNITIONS 2015

Top Celebs & Celeb Couples

As mentioned in an earlier #TheRoundUp by Enzer edition, the E.W. Board decided to dump the public vote which determined the E.W. Year’s Top Celebs and Celeb Couples.

What does that mean?

Well, for the 3rd Annual E.W. Independent Online Recognitions 2015, the E.W. Board will exclusively select the Top Celebs and Celeb Couples of the year. In addition to good looks (which was the prerequsite), the E.W. Board will only nominate celebs who have an outstanding success record in their fields, have an impressive media presence and are appealing to our audience. Fair enough?

New Subject

The E.W. Board has for the 3rd Annual E.W. Independent Online Recognitions decided to add a new SUBJECT that covers Media Websites (because we are all about covering).
One of the nominated Media Websites will be recognized by the E.W. Board as the best source of information (well written, interesting articles) of all kinds found on the web and worth sharing on social media.

The addition of this new SUBJECT brings the total of all subjects covered by the E.W. Recognitions to six: Television, Media Websites, Music, Celebrities, Travel & Audience Interaction.

HOT ON TV

On Sunday the 17th of May, the 2015 edition of the Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) aired live on ABC. Overall, the show was the worst out of all the BBMAs Ceremonies.

Why?

Well, the hosts weren’t compatible. Ludacris and Chrissy Teigen both did a great job; I just wish the producers had just picked one.

Hey!

Only Amy Poehler and Tina Fey can pull that one off (don’t bite me, please).

The performances were simply okay. I love all the artists that performed their hit singles (I love those songs too) but I expected something new from them. Repetition sucks.

The opening was different but not jaw-dropping. However I did enjoy watching the world premiere of the new Taylor Swift music video for the song Bad Blood. I had a feeling that if she had performed the song live, she was going to flop. I also didn’t mind that she took home most of the awards because she truly deserves them all.

Moving on, The Voice recently crowned its eighth winner during a live telecast which aired on NBC (as usual). I was not impressed. I was expecting fireworks from the eighth season but all I got was mediocrity. However, I did enjoy the guests on the show this season. Musicians like Meghan Trainor and Reba McEntire were undoubtedly a great addition to the eighth season and the contestants were great singers. Hopefully the ninth season will be better.

#TheRoundUp by Enzer - No. 25

AMERICAN IDOL ROUND-UP

Enzer got it right! Nick Fradiani is the new American (A.I.) Idol! I am glad season 14 ended on a high because that’s what good TV should be all about. If you had asked me at the beginning of A.I. Season 14 (which aired on Fox) who the winner was going to be, the name Nick was probably not going to be mentioned. However, that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t deserve it. The dude has been consistent, he is relatable, he is good looking and he has ‘The X-Factor’ (sorry Simon Cowell for mixing your ideas with your competition, LOL) that other successful former contestants (Chris Daughtry, David Cook) possessed. I can’t wait to hear what Scott Borchetta has in store for us through this new addition to the music industry. I’m sure Nick’s debut album will have a place on the charts considering how well Big Machine Records’ (that is the record label Scott owns) Taylor Swift 100% Pop (1989) Album did. Hey, who knows, Taylor Swift and Nick Fradiani could even collaborate on a song. That’s a great idea, right?

THE FINALE: The two hour finale was incredible, as usual. The guest appearances by some of the biggest artists of ‘today’, the unexpected duets, the fashion, the stage and the judges all made that evening another memorable A.I. night. Well done to the production team! You guys never seize to put on a BIG show.

BUT: Where was Taylor Swift? Hopefully she’ll perform next time.

THE PERFORMANCES: I enjoyed all of them. My favorite were by Janelle Monae with Adanna ft. Jidenna, Prince Royce ft. Jennifer Lopez & Pitbull, The Jackson Five with Tyanna, Nile Rodgers with The Girls, Steven Tyler with Jax, Fall Out Boy with Nick & Clark, Ricky Martin with The Boys, Echosmith with Joey – It was star studded! I could go on and on and on about how I enjoyed the music.

SAD NEWS: A.I. got the boot! Is the world ending? What am I going to do with my life, LOL. The TV Show that helped us usher in our anticipated New Years and introduced us to hidden talent from across the United States will sadly air its final season beginning in January 2016. According to Fox, the ratings suck.

GOOD NEWS: Be on the lookout for the hashtag #EnzerLovesIdol. Enzer’s World (E.W.) will be sharing posts, videos and much more in honor of one of our top TV Series. I mean, it has to go out with a BANG right?

THE FAREWELL SEASON: It better be good. I would be happy to see the return of former judges and appearances by former contestants. I’m not sure how the producers of the show are going to make the final season different from the others but hopefully it’ll impress. I guess after the final season has ended our attention will be on The Voice USA which (clearly) has taken over the Singing-Competition scene.
