#TheRoundUp by Enzer - No. 22
SPEAK OUT
What are some of your favorite TV Shows that have
been cancelled? I hope some of the few that I’ve decided to blog about this
week are on your list as well. Yes, like the rest, I and the other members of
the Enzer’s World (E.W.) Board hate it when shows get cancelled in a heartbeat.
That’s why the E.W. Board has a special recognition dedicated to outstanding TV
series we believe have a permanent place on our small screens and/or deserves a
second chance on air. Find out which shows will make the SHORTLIST for that
particular recognition in the upcoming E.W. Independent Online Recognitions
taking place in a few weeks’ time.
For now, let’s direct our attention to a few TV
shows we were sad to see cancelled or end.
Where you a fan of How I Met Your Mother which
aired on CBS? That show was insanely awesome and was never meant to get
cancelled. The cast ensemble was by far one of the best and the storylines were
like no other. Another series that got dropped was LGBTI-Friendly series, Looking
which aired on HBO. It wasn’t really as good as the series Queer As Folk (which aired on Showtime) but it
at least shed some light on how sexually wild gay men can be (well, that’s what I picked
up). I also loved the couples and enjoyed looking (pun unintended) at the
good-looking gentlemen (and lady).
Finally, as promised in an earlier edition of
#TheRoundUp, a small paragraph on Passions. The daytime TV soap-opera Passions
last aired on NBC a few years ago but its visuals are still fresh in my mind. What
sets Passions apart from the rest was the fact it was one of the few soap-operas
that experimented with the supernatural theme. All the magical twists and
spooky storylines made it worth it and the long list of characters fit in
perfectly with what was going on. Will the ‘big guys’ ever bring back something
like that? My fingers are crossed.
Quotes:-
“Leadership is much more an art, a belief, a
condition of the heart, than a set of things to do. The visible signs of artful
leadership are expressed, ultimately, in its practice.” – MAX DEPREE
“I knew after my first lesson what I wanted to do
with my life.” – BILLIE JEAN KING
“Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers,
but to be fearless in facing them. Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain,
but for the heart to conquer it.” – RABINDRANATH TAGORE

AMERICAN IDOL ROUND-UP
It was a great week for Nick, a bad week for
Rayvon but Quentin left the competition. I’m pretty sure Rayvon will be the
next to be eliminated from the competition. Besides the fact that his performances
have been lacking, he has been stuck in the bottom two for too long. It’s sad
because he is really talented.
I think it’s now safe to predict a winner right?
Nope, we are not ready yet. America keeps surprising us so we might not get an
E.W. prediction, even for the finale.

MUSIC SPOT
Is Britney
Spears still the Princess of Pop?
Has that question ever crossed your mind?
I hope it has, because in this week’s
edition of #TheRoundUp, I’m going to
try to convince you to jump the fence and join me on the other side, LOL. You’re
probably laughing in your seat thinking:
“Who could possibly beat Britney Spears?”
How about young star Demi Lovato? You know her, right? Ever thought of that one? She is
adorable, isn’t she? If you think she is adorable now, in her twenties, then
you should have seen her when she started off on popular children’s musical program
Barney & Friends which she
starred in alongside another pop sensation, Selena
Gomez. Ah, the cutest. Oh, but that was just the beginning…
Her transition into television catered for tweens
and teens was so impressive; I doubt there’s another Hollywood star out there that holds the same record. Her roles on Disney’s Sonny with a Chance and the Camp
Rock films paved the way for her success in the music business including
her very important job at Fox’s X-Factor USA where she shared the
judging table with some of Hollywood’s
finest (including Uncle Simon Cowell).
Are we ever going to see Demi and Simon in one show ever again? They were
one of the few reasons many switched to Fox
when the X-Factor was on, I’m sure.
BACK TO THE MUSIC: Demi’s music has a lot to offer in the sense that it covers a wide
range of topics. It’s all pop music, but it carries so many different meanings
or messages, get it? She sings about love, boys, life, partying, success,
failure and so much more, I’m typing this wondering why she hasn’t been given a
worthy title yet.
If she has to fight with Britney
Spears to become the next Princess of
Pop, I’d advise her to GOT FOR IT!
If she ever loses the battle (LOL), she
can at least count on the Enzer’s World
(E.W.) Board’s Recognition!
Yes,
she is E.W.’s Top Female Pop Act for
the 2nd E.W. Year
(2013/2014).
The 2nd
E.W. Year was her year; I’ll save the details for later.
Here’s a list of some of our favorite songs by Demi Lovato (or songs she has been
featured in):-

HOT ON TV
On Sunday night, The 2015 MTV Movie Awards aired live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles
to a global audience on MTV. The ceremony
was hosted by comedienne Amy Schumer
(I’m still not sure why she is famous, LOL) and was attended by some of Hollywood’s coolest celebrities.
I
enjoyed every bit of the live telecast and by the end of it all; I was
satisfied and happy with the crew behind the scenes. The stage was EPIC! I have
never seen anything like it! The music performances could’ve have been better
and the jokes delivered by host Amy
Schumer had me in stitches throughout. She should do this again! She is it!
SPEAK OUT
Quotes: -
“Everyone’s life is under someone’s control – it might
as well be under your own so that you can direct your destiny.” – HARRY TUCKER
“A single arrow is easily broken, but not ten in
a bundle.” – JAPANESE PROVERB
“Praise does wonders for our sense of hearing.” –

AMERICAN IDOL ROUND-UP
When it was announced that the theme for this
week was American Classics; I felt
like burying myself in the sand or hanging out with my buddies, instead of
watching Wednesday night’s broadcast. Thank God I decided to stay home and
watch this week’s episode of American
Idol because (surprisingly) I loved it! Some of the contestants struggled
with the songs but the contestants that sang well, really sang well.
Jax finally had her big night! She was the best
performer by far! She modernized the songs that she sang and brought out that
edgy side of hers that we all had missed. The songs she sang sounded so
current, I won’t be surprised if at least one of them topped some billboard
chart. She belongs on a bigger stage.
BOTTOM TWO: - Nick
and Quentin
