#TheRoundUp by Enzer - No. 35
HOT ON TV
Yes, you got it! In this edition of #TheRoundUp , TV programs that provide world class celebrity coverage for an English speaking audience will be the center of attention.
E.T.: This series is a Top Enzer’s World (E.W.) TV show that keeps getting better. When I began watching E.T. (Syndicated) a couple of years ago, I couldn’t understand why the show was ever on-the-air to begin with. Thankfully, the show has improved. For the past two years E.T. has added so much of value, the E.W. Board unanimously voted for the series to win the recognition in the Outstanding Reality TV Lifestyle Magazine Series category for the 3rd E.W. Year. I am glad it won that recognition and that it’s keeping up.
The E.W. Board voted wisely! The set and the logo and the content is on point plus the team behind it all is hard-working. The anchors also had a good year: Nancy O’Dell and co-host Kevin Frazier both won recognitions for their work during the 3rd E.W. Year beating top Hollywood talent (according to us) and cementing E.T.’s place in the world of Television. On the other hand, I really hope that they extend their daily airtimes to an hour long episodes per day (soon) because I’m getting a little annoyed by how all the condensed episodes (well, it feels that way) leave no room for ‘breathing.’ It’s all rushed and too much at the same time. Luckily, I can keep up but I’m sure many others aren’t able to and might be tempted to switch to their competition. Hmm, I wonder which show that is.
The Canadian version of the show (E.T. Canada) isn’t so bad either. The series airs on Global Canada and has a gorgeous set and presenters, and some of the content is surprisingly better. A lot of people find it difficult to differentiate between an American and Canadian product, but for this one, E.T., is an exception.
E! News: These guys never disappoint. Whenever I miss an episode I fall sick, LOL. It’s so addictive and well produced; I wish it was on all day (or maybe not). E! News (airing exclusively on the E! network) won the E.W. Recognitions’ Outstanding Reality Television Lifestyle Magazine Series recognition for the 2nd E.W. Year (sadly they lost in the 3rd year to E.T.) because they killed it. Their set is so accommodative and looks expensive – I’d buy it all. The news is delivered exceptionally and the hosts were born to host the show. Jason Kennedy, Maria Menounos, Cat Sadler, Terrence Jenkins, Giuliana Rancic (former) and the rest are mesmerizing and wear those outfits/suits impeccably. Yes, I’m sure one of the reasons why the show ‘pulls the crowds’ is because of the fashion.
Ever watched some of their celebrity interviews? Gosh, the best. They take their time and make viewers feel appreciated for their time. That is one thing that many shows lack. Appreciation is key people.
Access Hollywood: Oh one of my new favorites. I like that it’s a combination of several elements. There are the discussions, the interviews, the live shows – I mean who beats that? This series (which airs in Syndication) is pushing it (in a good way) and it’s paying off – THANK GOD. Is it fair to say that it’s all flawless (for now)?
The Insider: Fast-paced and always a pleasure to watch. Unlike E.T., this show delivers relevant celebrity stories/news in a short space of time without making me ‘pass out’ and they don’t even need a large studio for that magic to happen! If you are a busy bee with only a few minutes to spare but don’t want to miss out on what’s hot in Hollywood, then The Insider (Syndicated) is the right show for you. Whoever created this is a genius. Dude, you are up there with the Wright Brothers and Alexander Graham Bell, LOL.
Hollywood Today Live: This new show (Syndicated) is refreshing. I’d recommend it without any doubt. I would be sad if I missed an episode and I would be shocked if it got canceled. It deserves to be on-the-air and I only hope for the best. No, I’m not being nice because it’s a new one. No, it’s a good show and I like it. :)
Extra: If I had another option, I would go for the other option. I don’t know how to explain it, but the show (airs in Syndication) is definitely lacking something. It’s not boring; there’s a lot of unique, relevant and important content in each episode. I just can’t seem to connect with all that’s happening. However, Mario Lopez and Charissa Thompson make it bearable (they should host ‘til the end of time) and the outdoor setting earns the show a couple of golden points. Keep it outside and I’ll keep ‘defending’ it.
TMZ: What about TMZ (Syndicated)? I'll call it the odd one out in a very appealing way. The format is like no other and each episode is very entertaining. It's worth the time.
Hotter:
What’s On-The-Air right now? Well, Dancing with the Stars premiered its 21st Season a month ago on ABC! I’m enjoying watching the show and hopefully it’ll keep on entertaining.
The Affair returned for a second season on Showtime but sadly I am beginning to run out of reasons to tune in. It might not get a third season.
Satisfaction on USA Network is the drama series to watch. I enjoyed the first season of the show and threw a huge party (in my mind) when I heard that it was returning for a second season. #NotToBeMissed
The Voice on NBC is back! I’m glad Gwen Stefani is back. She really fits in and seems to be the only exciting personality/thing/aspect so far. So, don’t expect much.
IN THE NEWS
On one hand, I don’t understand why she didn’t simply quit her job if serving gay people was a problem for her but, on the other hand, I feel like the gay lifestyle and all is being shoved down people’s throats (in America). A number of countries are gay-friendly or way more LGBTI progressive than the United States (rights, protections, education), but they don’t have to always talk about it. America takes it too far. Is it all a sham?
Cecil the Lion was also a touching headline a few months ago. The death of the beloved Zimbabwean lion which was killed by an American dentist had tourists mourning. I was a little surprised by all the attention Cecil received because I thought people knew that animals were being killed on a daily basis in nature reserves all over the African continent. I hope more is done to protect these animals. It begins with the locals (Zimbabweans). If the locals care more about their livestock, then there’s no hope. What’s your solution?
The murder of the Virginia TV Journalists was also a shocker. I still cannot believe that they were shot on live TV. Who does that? Why are people killing each other so much in America? I hope it doesn’t become a trend. Yes, selfies, the Presidential Debates, Kim Kardashian and all of that stuff is cool. The irresponsible/barbaric use of guns – not cool.

SPEAK OUT
Kaley Cuoco got divorced! Yes, Kaley Cuoco and sportsman Ryan Sweeting are done. I am still in shock. Why does this always happen to Hollywood Celebs? Is there something in the water? Oh, I also heard that Beyonce and Jay-Z are having problems. Sources say they are still together because of their little girl Blue Ivy. SMH
On the brighter side, I think it’s honorable (for Hollywood’s sake) to congratulate a few celebrity couples for sticking together for longer than expected.
CLAPS FOR - Will Smith & Jada Pinkett-Smith, Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie, David Beckham & Victoria Beckham. Keep on keeping on lovers!
