#TheRoundUp By Enzer - No. 50
HOT ON TV
Lead actors and actresses, Elizabeth Gillies (Fallon Carrington), Nathalie Kelley (Krystle Carrington), Grant Snow (Blake Carrington), James Mackay (Steven Carrington) and the actors and actresses that portray the foes that are part of that financial success are breathtakingly giving viewers an exaggerated on-screen insight into the lives of the Atlanta elite through story-lines that cover all matters of typical American love lives. There’s the interracial romance, the gay hookups, the marriage with a large age difference and a sad story-line about the one that got away.
This show is not only HOT ON TV but it is also my television obsession of the year - I really hope it doesn’t suffer the same fate as other The C.W. reboots like 90210 and Melrose Place.
Thanks to the developers (Sallie Patrick, Josh Schwartz, and Stephanie Savage) a promising series has finally found a home on our television screens (at least for now).
HOTTER:
I am enjoying watching the evolution of all the main characters of the series and the unforeseen events that result from the evolution.
Frank (William H. Macy) is making amends and turning a new leaf (or at least attempting to do so), Fiona (Emmy Rossum) is now a landlord and is also losing her sex drive (ugh women, LOL), Lip (Jeremy Allen White) is sober, Ian (Cameron Monaghan) is maturing in love, Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) has found his calling in the national guard, Liam (Christian Isaiah) is beginning to face challenges and our favorite, Debbie (Emma Kenney) is every woman. Don’t you just love the Gallagher family?

THROWBACK:
The Primetime Emmys, the MTV EMAs, and the AMAs rocked my world a couple of weeks ago. The Emmy producers hit the reinvent button this year by introducing new elements with the unexpected wins as the cherry on top, all on CBS and hosted by Stephen Colbert.The EMA Gods dished out awards on a large stage in London with a long lineup of international artists performing hit songs of the year and Rita Ora hosting the show. It was not my favorite telecast of the year, but I will be watching next year.
The AMAs on ABC surpassed all expectations. The new stage and the new order of events improved the quality of the show and Tracee-Ellis Ross (the hostess of the night) should host this show again i.e. she killed the gig.
Other events which aired last month on my small telly were the Miss World and Miss Universe finals. The Miss World finals telecast scored an average mark (nothing new). The Miss Universe telecast, on the other hand, was a superb show.
The beauties that walked the glittering finals stage and the rest of the show’s complements (inserts, music performances) were captivating and definitely world class. The producers of the show set the bar even higher.
A.I. UPDATE:
We are a few weeks away from the premiere of American Idol (A.I.) on ABC. Three contestants competed for a golden ticket during the live T.V. broadcast of the AMAs and the excitement keeps building here, on E.W.Information about the course which the upcoming season of the series will take when it begins in 2018 is not available anywhere (or has not yet leaked {*hides*}), so I guess we will have to wait and see.

IN THE NEWS
News of reports of sexual harassment at multiple workplaces has been trending for a while now. It saddens me ‘till this day that victims only have one option – to speak out when it is too late or the damage has been done. Besides exposing all the ‘sexual predators’, work on finding a resolution on how to tackle the problem of victims choosing to remain silent must begin or intensify in our communities. I am glad a lot of popular people spoke out about their experiences because that raises awareness and discourages silence.Silence must not be an option!

#TheRoundUp by Enzer - No. 49
HOT ON TV
Total Request Live (TRL) on MTV (U.S.A.) is back!Is that good news or bad news?
I never used to miss an episode of TRL when it aired back in the 2000s and was hosted by Carson Daly. Most of the music that ended up playing on my music playlists was music that TRL was showcasing. Therefore; this reality series (as we like to call it here) played a huge role during my teenage years.
Version 2.0 isn’t so bad either. I like the new logo, the new hosts, the set and the featured artists that continuously bring back all the best memories of the 2000s.
Yes, folks, we do not miss Carson Daly, LOL. *hides*
Tune in if you have a few minutes to spare, record some episodes if you’d like something to watch while on a break or look for the episodes of the old TRL with Carson Daly if you’re unhappy about him becoming less relevant to the young adults demographic.
HOTTER:
Dancing with the Stars on ABC (U.S.A.) kicked off its twenty-fifth season in October with a cast I was hugely impressed by, hosts that do well and a panel of judges that is stingy with points. I can’t say it is my favorite season (or TV show for that matter) but the production is worth the watch.A.I. UPDATE:
The judging panel for the upcoming season of American Idol on ABC is now in place! Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie recently signed on as judges and have had all social media buzzing since then. I am proud to say that Enzer's World (E.W.) was not left out.
I could have never guessed that those three superstars would ever judge anything appearing on TV. I am not happy about the producers not selecting an entertainment industry expert (like Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi) as a judge, however, a popular name might be the best candidate to keep the ratings at a higher level.

THROWBACK:
Did you guys watch Room 104’s first season? The show concluded its first season on HBO (U.S.A.) in October with many wondering what season two has in store for its TV following (a.k.a, me).
The series, created by Mark and Jay Duplass has E.W. gobsmacked. Each episode has its own unique story-line with cast members that we enjoy watching meshed into thirty minutes of thrilling scenes.
You might skip most scenes, but I can assure that you won’t want to miss out on knowing what each episode’s story-lines are about.
I got to watch a couple of awards shows this past summer. The VMAs (MTV), the Teen Choice Awards (FOX) and the Emmys (CBS) all upped their game. Breathtaking performances, outstanding hosts, and stellar stages dominated this past summer’s lineup of awards ceremonies bringing back the life they had lost during the previous years.
I am glad a lot of producers took risks which paid off and that audiences are already excited about the upcoming awards season already.

#CelebsDoes James Corden deserve a lengthy introduction?
James is E.W.’s Outstanding Reality TV Host and Outstanding Televised Event Host for the fifth E.W. Year. He deserves more medals than Usain Bolt for scooping two Recognitions taking the best host title from Ryan Seacrest who never fails on TV.
James hosts The Late Late Show on CBS (U.S.A.) which wouldn’t be at its best if he were not part of the production.
I hope the next Grammys are hosted by him. #FingersCrossed

HOT ON TV
Who’s not a fan of America’s Got Talent (AGT)?
Could it be Jerry Springer?
The runner-ups?
FOX Networks?
I’m sorry to break it to some of you folks, but if we did the math, AGT would still be on the air.
Wait, it still is!
AGT, which has had a special slot on NBC’s summer lineup since 2006, is the best-televised talent show in the history of talent shows.
Missing a season of AGT’s newsworthy contestants, the panel of judges and hosts would cause an earthquake in our world that can only be prevented by a kiss from a beautiful woman named Tyra Banks.
Her energy and humor coupled with her good looks and TV experience have rejuvenated this long running talent show and made the American Summer of 2017 a delight.
The production is insane! It really elevates the viewing experience and gets audiences hooked ‘til the end of each episode. I also love the fact that the producers continuously reinvent the series and that the brand has gone global.
I am glad you’re reading this because it means you’ll tune in.
So tune in.
AGT airs on NBC. NBC is Enzer’s World (E.W.) Independent Online Recognitions’ Best TV Network for the 5th E.W. Year.
Another TV series that I can’t stop watching is Insecure on HBO. It’s a woman-centric series about a group of African-American women that are hard-working, intelligent, hopeless romantics, confident and love sex. It is similar to Girls (which also aired on HBO) and the series also shines a light on the modern woman in the workplace/office.
You must catch up, coz I did.
Tune in because the singles are full of life/personality and are desperate for any human that walks by. In short, it’s a good show.
HOTTER:
The 2017 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) will air live from California on MTV before the end of August.P!nk will receive the Video Vanguard Award, Kendrick Lamar received the most nominations and Katy Perry will host the shindig. #NotToBeMissed
The Outstanding Fictional TV Series for the 5th E.W. Year is Shameless airing on Showtime.
The series did well in our books by scoring big on script writing, direction, acting, music, and wardrobe. The show has been nominated several times for the top award such that I’m sure a lot of our followers expected it to lose. Thank God it didn’t.
Shameless returns this fall on Showtime with Emmy Rossum (Fiona Gallagher) as the leading lady.
Emmy was also nominated in the category: Outstanding Actress in a Fictional TV Series for the 5th E.W. Year.
A.I. UPDATE:
In case you haven’t heard, American Idol (A.I.) returns in 2018 on ABC. Katy Perry and Chris Daughtry have been confirmed as judges, Ryan Seacrest returns as host and some of the auditions have already taken place.

THROWBACK:
The 2017 BET Awards telecast was too long. The show which aired on BET in June delivered an outstanding TV product that went on for too long. I had to repeat that because I ended up skipping most of the segments.
Fairly, the music performances were immeasurable and the presenters were well rehearsed. However, the hostess did not really impress me. Leslie Jones is a great TV personality and she was supposed to make her mark on that night but sadly the TV Gods were not on her side. Pick another comedian next time BET bosses and we will continue to be friends. *winks*
