#TheRoundUp By Enzer - No. 62
HOT ON TV
AppleTV+ made its debut with a few notable titles, one of which I regard as the most notable, this past American Fall.
You guessed it!
The Morning Show is a new dramedy which centers around the crew of a successful morning/breakfast show based in bustling New York City (closely resembling Good Morning America on ABC and The Today Show on NBC) which is hit hard with a sexual harassment scandal forcing one of its stars to relinquish their post.
Is that too much for primetime viewing?
Well, I’ll have you know that the stellar cast of Hollywood A-List movie actors put seasoned television greats to shame. That was the whole point, right?
I’m kidding, but lead actresses Jennifer Aniston (Alex Levy) and Reese Witherspoon (Bradley Jackson) lead the pack with such acting flair; I’m sure the doubters are silent. #DamnRight
Above all, I am so appreciative of how one of Hollywood’s serious and recurring problems: sexual harassment at the workplace and misogyny are tackled. It’s truly inspiring and exemplary to try to tell all sides of the story without prejudice. Plus, all the drama (as expected) makes the ‘pinches’ feel less like ‘pinches.’
Carol’s Second Act on CBS is a refreshingly humorous sitcom about a woman who found her second calling as a medical doctor. It stars Patricia Heaton (Carol Kenney) and Jean-Luc Bilodeau (Daniel Kutcher) alongside a few other familiar and new faces.
I would recommend you tune in if you are into light-hearted humor (as opposed to the disturbing deaths over at ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy land).
HOTTER:
The 2019 edition of the E! People’s Choice Awards was an eventful ceremony featuring some of Enzer’s World (E.W.)’s top and favorite celebrities. The event should be an E! Network event ‘til eternity.
The 2019 AMAs on ABC, hosted by Ciara took us back in hit music history by honoring Taylor Swift as the Artist of the Decade and inviting Toni Braxton and Shania Twain to perform some of their timeless classics. It was a femicentric get-together which will be relived for many years to come.
Have you had the chance to tune into The Kelly
Clarkson Show (Syndicated)? This unmissable talk show hosted by the bubbliest personality in showbiz, Kelly Clarkson, has impeccably rejuvenated the talk show genre.
Move over Ellen and Wendy, coz the next best thing has arrived!
Another femicentric event that trended these past few weeks was the 2019 CMA Awards show on ABC.
Country music always takes us home (even though most of us aren’t from places where the country music culture is dominant), so it wasn’t disappointing.
The performances were lit and I #TOTALLY wanna book a ticket for the next show, just saying.
Other shows to catch: This Is Us (NBC), Riverdale (The CW), Dynasty (The CW), How to Get Away with Murder (ABC), Empire (FOX), Temptation Island (USA Network), Shameless (Showtime), The Ellen DeGeneres Show (Syndicated).
WEB TV:
Made From Scratch is a series about celebrities preparing some of their favorite dishes with a loved one.
The interesting conversations (between the celebrity and their loved one) are the biggest draw-in such that I forget that delicious dishes are being prepared, sometimes.

A.I. UPDATE:
Not only is Kelly Clarkson a chart-topping and best-selling artist, but she’s also a talk show hostess; I’m sure you’re aware of that, by now.
It seems like she has a clean record and is impossible to ‘dethrone’ considering how less successful other reality singing competition winners are.
Will the upcoming season 18/3 on ABC change all that?
I’m highly doubtful.
E.W. GLOBAL:
Out of the few versions of The Bachelor which I’ve found to be worthy of my time, the United States’ version which airs on ABC is still KING.
The Bachelor Australia (Network Ten), The Bachelor Canada (Citytv), The Bachelor South Africa (M-Net), and The Bachelor United Kingdom (Channel 5) are all well-produced shows which just missed one thing: DRAMA.
When it gets too real, we switch channels!
THROWBACK:
Melrose Place is a prime-time drama that aired on FOX back in the 90s. This classic throwback is one that you could watch all day long without skipping scenes. Well, maybe the long opening theme loses its effect after a few episodes... #BingeWorthy, anyway.

MUSIC SPOT
Kelly Clarkson versus Bebe Rexha?
Some might chuckle, but hopefully, some see what I see here.
Bebe Rexha is fairly new and less successful than Kelly Clarkson (mainly in terms of sales) but I think she has what it takes to surpass Kelly in the music industry due to her musical versatility.
Don’t get me wrong, Kelly Clarkson pretty much dominates the Adult Contemporary genre in key markets but Bebe has that pop ‘x-factor’ which transcends the usual pop radio sound which Kelly is mostly associated with.
And with Kelly beginning to venture into other spheres such as TV Hosting, I think Bebe Rexha’s time could be NOW.

FLICK PICK
I am a huge fan of horror movies; I watch them all the time. But lately, a few of the horror titles which I’ve been watching have shifted the main focus from that of horrific thrill to awareness of the downsides of advanced technology.
Films such as Vlogworthy (2017), the Unfriended Series (2015, 2018) and Ride (2018) are quite eye-opening such that I am failing to comprehend why they haven’t ignited a discussion regarding online safety (specifically).
I know it’s kinda hard to enjoy watching a movie which is a little over-the-top, but it might just be life-saving.
