#TheRoundUp By Enzer - No. 53

SPEAK OUT

#Celebs
Enzer’s World (E.W.)’s Top Actress for the 5th E.W. Year is Angela Robinson. She plays the role of Veronica Harrington on OWN’s The Haves and the Have Nots

I have always gravitated towards Angela’s artistry. She is nothing like the villainous Veronica (clearly) but her portrayal has contradicted that fact on multiple occasions. I cannot think of anyone else who could have played the role of Veronica better than Angela because she excellently adopts the character and somehow makes us fall in love with Veronica, even though she is always up to no good; like a guilty pleasure.

Most importantly, Angela did the best job on TV during the previous E.W. Year. A number of actors (whose names I won’t mention) could learn a thing or two on how to perfectly portray a character from E.W.’s Top Actress.

I feel like a proud mama...or dada. *shrugs*

“The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have.” – VINCE LOMBARDI

THROWBACK:
The 2018 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) aired live on NBC and were hosted by that Idol girl that got away, the original Idol, the most successful Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson. She did not forget her bubbly personality at home and yes, she gave us rainbows, feathers, cover versions, dreadful jokes and conversation starters in like 3 hours of live television. It was the best night ever!
She can now add TV Hostess to her resume, right?

The Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also aired on TV a few weeks ago. I don’t really enjoy watching British Royal Weddings (I skipped William & Kate’s nuptial and I don’t remember who Prince Charles & Princess Diana are, LOL) but this one was shoved in my face on a daily basis, I just had to check it out. It was a fancy affair, so dignified, so traditional and very far from my idea of a perfect wedding day, LOL.

I also got to watch the 2018 Miss USA Pageant. It was hosted by Nick & Vanessa Lachey. They are the cutest couple on the planet, OMG. They had so many adorable moments on-screen which made us all believe (just for about a minute) that Hollywood marriages can stand the test of time. #ForReal

SIDE NOTE: For some reason, I could not stop thinking about Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson’s reality show (about their marriage) which aired on MTV back in the day. *hides*

A.I. UPDATE:
The 16th Season of American Idol (A.I.), the first to air on ABC, was simply, different. The elimination rounds were changed in order to conclude the season earlier (I think). I am not yet sure whether that worked well for the show but from a viewer’s perspective, they should have chosen another route.

The live eliminations made the show feel like a ‘The Voice’ spinoff. A.I. lost a defining aspect and the producers should seriously consider reintroducing the original elimination process.

The contestants that made it through to the Top Ten were the weakest group in the history of the A.I. Top Ten. They butchered almost all of the songs that they sang (they even ruined Carrie Underwood Week) and it seemed like Hollywood Week had not really prepared the contestants for the grueling live rounds.

My favorite week was Disney Week. It was spectacular. Katy Perry was outstandingly the best personality present and you could swear that the theme for the finale was back to basics.

My favorite moment was when Maddie Poppe sang The Bare Necessities on Disney Night. You know, that is when I knew that she was going to win (or at least make it to the final).

The show has been renewed for a second season so have a great summer everybody, LOL.

MUSIC SPOT

It’s Pride Month, in most Gay-Friendly countries, so in this edition of #TheRoundUp, I have decided to highlight (and introduce to some) some of Pop Music’s LGBTI Stars of the year.

Troye Sivan: his debut album is still on repeat. OMG, releasing that album as his first was the best decision his label has ever made. It catapulted him to the top of the mainstream music charts and oh my, my, my, it seems like he is gonna stay there for decades to come.

Calum Scott: he is the exact opposite of the
stereotypical gay male, I am not sure if that is a good or a bad thing but what I know for sure is that his music is good escapism.

Halsey: her voice is the huskiest. I mean, have you heard her sing? Her tracks are well produced and truly describe all those mixed feelings that we feel when we are at crossroads and all. It’s called LOVE, LOL.

Ricky Martin: a Pop Music list is not complete without
a little Latino flavor. His music has us bopping at parties; I’m sure your DJ won’t dare skip a track or two on his set list for your party this Pride Month.

Sam Smith: this guy’s music has all the answers to our relationship problems. No further comments.

Todrick Hall: he has created this perfect picture of the
world where being gay, bisexual, trans and fluid is the norm. He is really pushing for that ideal using music which is authentic.

Happy Pride Month BIATCHES!!
