#TheRoundUp By Enzer - No. 64

HOT ON TV

Katy Keene is a new series from Berlanti Productions and Co. (they are killing it, right?) which I find addictive.

The series is about a group of young people who are chasing their dreams while figuring out life in the bustling city of New York. The main character, Katy, played by Lucy Hale, is a composed individual who I believe has brought some normalcy to this type of genre. That might not make sense but I am sure you will not hate her if you do decide to tune in.

I will not be surprised if the show does not get a second (or third) season especially because it is not groundbreaking but I love and accept that it is quite dissimilar to the show its spun from (Riverdale). Yes, Riverdale is well-written but sometimes the zany characters can be exhausting, LOL.

Another plus is that Katy Keene is filled with young hot stars, #Totally

Another new youthful series showing on television is Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist starring Jane Levy as lead Zoey Clarke. This series is a perfect blend of the dramedy and musical genre which I've been yearning for since the end of similar favorites such as Glee

The lead character is a successful computer programmer  (or coder) who has these bizarre musical moments with the supporting cast in episodes of varying themes or subjects. #Revered

Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to announce that Hollywood's television comedy writers have recovered.

Yes (again), the new comedies on television this American fall/winter/spring season are truly notable.

Outmatched, Indebted, to mention a few, make for great prime-time viewing each time they are on, probably because of their writers' taking on the odd modern family. #IWantMore

Making waves on reality television these days is The Masked Singer USA hosted by Nick Cannon and starring A-list Hollywood stars as judges and contestants.

The third season got me hooked to all the show's shenanigans which were initially unbearable. I am enjoying playing the guessing game with the judges though I am yet to make a correct guess.

HOTTER:
The 2020 Oscars were spectacular.

Who needs a host when producers can pull off a spectacle like that?

I mean, did you notice how advanced the stage technicals were?

And how about the memorable performances?

I have no words (I'm sorry) to describe how incredible that telecast was this year.

#OscarProducersForPresident

The 2020 Grammys weren't as spectacular as I hoped they'd be. Alicia Keys did a great job at hosting this year but the show was generally simmered. Hopefully, things will change in 2021.

The 2020 NAACP Image Awards were produced in conjunction with ViacomCBS this year making them a little bit more appealing on television. Anthony Anderson hosted the event and Lizzo walked away as entertainer of the year.

The 2020 Brit Awards hosted by the 7th Enzer's World (E.W.) Recognitions' Outstanding Televised Event Host, Jack Whitehall in London, were exceptional when compared to previous editions. The event was glittery and featured out-of-this-world live performances.

Will the producers succeed at topping that next year?

The American version of Shameless on Showtime is ending after eleven unforgettable seasons on television.

I knew this was gonna happen after Emmy Rossum left the show in season 9 and when I began watching season 10 (the post-Fiona era). I could tell that there was some confusion or indecisiveness about how to go forward with the remaining characters. It just seemed as if Emmy's departure had sucked the life out of the entire cast and crew.

However, that could just be me, because according to multiple reports, the show-runner was ready to end the season a few years ago.

Anyway, Shameless is a classic series here at E.W. with multiple E.W. Recognitions and by being the only series to ever win the Outstanding Fictional Television Series Recognition two years in a row (5th and 6th E.W. Year).

I found the series to be enthusing and so fresh such that I am okay with the decision to end the series for good, without any chance of a reboot.

Other shows to catch: Dynasty, Empire, The Haves and the Have Nots (OWN), The Voice USA, American Idol, Grey's Anatomy, Boomerang (BET), Good Girls, Mom, Modern Family.

WEB TV:
In Conversation with Trevor is a talk web-series that features influential personalities being interviewed by a prominent Zimbabwean journalist named Trevor Ncube. The series is filled with rare inspirational chat sessions well-tailored for an online audience.

A.I. UPDATE:

The new season of American Idol is frankly quite entertaining and possibly the best of the ABC produced seasons.

Though I am not entirely happy with the judges' final judgments, I am still hopeful that we will get a great season this year.

With that mentioned, I can only try to predict a winner or pick my favorites when the live shows begin. That could be a good or a bad thing.

One cast member who has been a favorite for a while now is Luke Bryan as a judge. He just knows what to say and how to deliver judgments in such a constructive way. He is by far one of the best judges the Idol franchise has ever hired. #ITotallyStandByThat

E.W. GLOBAL:

You are gonna wish you were a New Zealander after you watch TVNZ 2's first season of The Bachelorette New Zealand starring not one, but two Bachelorettes, and a slew of handsome kiwi hunks.

It's full of drama, it's full of twists, it's full of humor and it's full of picturesque settings which one could not get enough of.

The show is a conversation starter, something no one would've expected from New Zealand television makers.

THROWBACK:

The Secret Life of the American Teenager is one of my favorite teen dramas of all time. The series did a great job of mimicking real teenage lives in a way that was not only entertaining but also educational at times.

Binge-watching the series would not be a bad idea if you're in the mood for some nostalgic television.

SPEAK OUT

#Celebs

So, Harry and Meghan moved out of their royal residences and quit the royal life under Queen Elizabeth

Why am I not surprised?

Well, Harry is quite the rebel (who lost his mother to Buckingham drama) and Meghan is quite the American - that combo was never gonna last at Buckingham Palace.

At least their kid (or kids) now have a chance to live a normal life away, in The Americas.

And why does Trump always have to be such a drama queen?

He was apparently notified about Harry and Meghan's plans to relocate to the U.S. from Canada and wasted no time in alerting the whole world that America was not going to take care of their (Harry and Meghan's) exorbitant financial needs.

Oh please, Trump, I'm sure Meghan has sufficient bank.

IN THE NEWS

COVID-19 commonly known as the Coronavirus has unexpectedly succeeded at halting global economical activities as if we are living some Hollywood writer's fictional apocalyptic story.

I am just mad at government officials because they took their sweet time at enforcing regulations which could've curbed the spread of the disease and most probably saved a lot of lives. If the authorities had acted earlier, as soon as news of the first Corona-related death broke out, then most of our Corona-related problems would not have existed.

I don't understand how someone can prepare for a financial disaster or economic disruption but forget about the reservation of necessities.

The only viable solutions rest with the scientists of this world (obviously) but it is clear from reports that beating the virus might be extensively draining.

FLICK PICK

Onward is a family-friendly animated adventure film about a middle-class family's unexpected encounter with the world of magic with a timeless heart-warming story-line.

I still can't figure out why this movie is less popular than the Frozen Series. #Hides
