#TheRoundUp by Enzer - No. 14

HOT ON TV

Are you as broke as Max Black (played by Kat Dennings) and Caroline Channing (played by Beth Behrs) from 2 Broke Girls, LOL? I hope not. I, on the other hand, do hope that you are enjoying the show as much as we are here at Enzer’s World (EW). 2 Broke Girls Season 4, airing on CBS, is MUST SEE TV! One quality that this series possesses (which many TV Sitcoms lack) is an outstanding script. The comical lines on 2 Broke Girls are one of a kind and keep me and I’m sure millions more in stitches throughout about eighty percent of the episodes. Kudos to the writing team!

THE CAST: Incredible! I have to continuously remind myself that it’s a fictional series because the actors fit in so well with the characters.

Another popular show, that I think is not so bad, is ABC’s Nashville. This primetime drama that follows the interesting lives of American country music stars hasn’t really convinced me that it is better than the rest. The show is simple, almost like real-life but borderline boring. The show needs more drama, more excitement and a few new characters. However, I do like the gorgeous actors that currently work on the show. Yes, please, keep them, just work on the other stuff, LOL.

The 2015 Brit Awards on ITV were pretty good. The British aren’t really the best in entertaining the world during a live event (e.g. the boring and long 2012 London Olympics Opening Ceremony, yea I remember that), except when they organize The Brits which fortunately for us are the ‘black sheep’ in a good way, they throw an amazing party. Mama Madonna did her thing! She fell, but she still brought it! I also enjoyed performances by Sam Smith, Taylor Swift (opening act) and George Ezra (the guy with THE VOICE). The stage needs to change though. I know that it’s kind of like their ‘signature’ but I think it still needs a bit of a modern 2015 touch. You know - something fresh and cool.

James Bay. His voice sounds good on record and his career looks promising especially after the success of his hit single “Hold Back the River.”

DAILY INSPIRATION

Much like rope tied around our feet or hands, anger hinders and hampers us. Like few other emotions, anger restricts and binds us, tying us in internal knots. Forgiveness, on the other hand sets us free from those bonds, untying the knots that hold us captive.

“You know you’ve achieved perfection in design, not when you have nothing more to add, but when you have nothing more to take away.” – ANTOINE de SAINT EXUPERY

AMERICAN IDOL ROUND-UP

Season 14 needs more oomph! The episodes that aired on Wednesday and Thursday night almost made me sleepy. However, I did like the American Idol (AI) team’s move to Detroit for the Top 24 show, it gave the show that little something special that their competition had (most probably) not seen coming – GOOD FOR YOU IDOL PEOPLES! The episodes were very fast, which is a good thing because it keeps many of us focused on what is going on, and the judges (as expected) didn’t really JUDGE. They were too nice.

The performances by the TOP 24 Boys and Girls (overall) were disappointing. I still can’t make up my mind on which group did better. Both sides had gems and rotten tomatoes LOL.

Who was the best performer? Boys’ side: Adam Ezegelian. He opened NIGHT ONE with so much energy, like a true rock star. The only concern is that he might not be as versatile as other artists, which could result in him suffering the same fate as last year’s winner, Caleb Johnson. On the other hand, I think he might win the competition! Sharing the second place spot is Mark Andrew and Rayvon Owen. Mark is so cool and sings so effortlessly. He would definitely top the charts. Rayvon is so present and easy to love. I see DOLLARS written all over him.

The worst performers were Trevor Douglas and Daniel Seavey. Trevor was too excited and off key. Daniel looked very uncomfortable, but maybe it was the song choice.

ENZER’S TOP 8 BOYS: Adam Ezegelian; Mark Andrew; Rayvon Owen; Clark Beckham; Nick Fradiani; Savion Wright; Riley Bria; Quentin Alexander

A few girls did well: Adanna Duru sounded really good. Alexis Gomez fooled me into believing that that Miranda Lambert song that she sang was written for her and Jax’s edge is awesome. The best performer was Sarina-Joi Crowe (her first name though). She sang her song very well from beginning to end.
It was flawless!
The worst performer was Shi Scott (obviously). Her arrangement of the song “Umbrella” was appalling and she even made it worse by not singing well. It might not entirely be her fault though because I’ve watched many Reality Singing Competition contestants fail to sing the song well. So it might just only be Rihanna who can successfully pull that one off.

ENZER’S TOP 8 GIRLS: Sarina-Joi Crowe; Adanna Duru; Alexis Gomez; Jax; Joey Cook; Shannon Berthiaume; Maddie Walker; Katherine Winston

I can’t wait to see what the show has in store for us next week!
