HOT ON TV
EMPIRE, where have you been? I love everything about
this show! (Well, so far). The intertwining storylines are unique and new to us,
and the actors are good looking and are doing their job not so badly. The show’s
music (including the opening sequence) is unique (and original) and well
sung/performed, and the DRAMATIC scenes define DRAMA! Oh yes, we have found the
definition of DRAMA. Professors at Oxford University can sit down now, LOL. FOX did it!
I’m glad Taraji
P. Henson (Cookie Lyon) is the
leading lady in this Fox series
because I just adore her. She can act like anything and anyone you can imagine
and pull it off. She’s sort of like a chameleon.
Terrence Howard (Lucious
Lyon) however, hasn’t really blown me away. He portrays a man that rules an
‘empire’ but I still see a nice guy. He is not convincing at all! He should try
to be like someone who in real life runs a multi-billion dollar business. I’m
thinking of someone like Donald Trump.
He has to be stern, bossy and full of attitude. People should not like him,
they should fear him. Unfortunately Terrence
isn’t bringing enough of any of that to the table.
CONCLUSION: The casting directors may have made a
mistake.
Moving on, I’m also in love with the fact that
the creators of the series included a gay storyline. The show is super LGBTI-Friendly with a gay couple that is
irresistible. One of the two plays the role of Jamal Lyon (Lucious’
middle child played by Jussie Smollett)
and the other half, well; I don’t care what his name is. I just want to keep
seeing him on my screen.
Shout out to Gabourey
Sidibe! She’s doing amazing stuff on TV! I love her work on the show as
well as on FX’s American Horror Story. She’s such an inspiration and her talent
stands out. Hopefully, she’ll host Saturday
Night Live on NBC soon.
IN THE NEWS
People living with albinism are being killed in East and Central Africa! Body parts of
these people are being used in rituals because they are believed to carry
magical powers that attract wealth. Most of the murders and rituals are
performed in Tanzania with a few cases confirmed in the Democratic Republic of
Congo (DRC).
If you have a relative or friend that’s living
with albinism, give them hug. They
are human too.

AMERICAN IDOL ROUND-UP
The bar was raised! Wednesday and Thursday night’s
episodes of American Idol (AI) brought back the excitement I yearned
for last week. The MO-TOWN theme worked in the contestants' favor and I am happy
to say that all of them impressed except for one: Daniel Seavey.
He performed way below average. I was shocked when I
found out that he had made it through to the
Top 16 but I, on the other hand, was happy with America (or those that
vote)'s other choices. The best performance was by Qaasim! He killed it. He was present; he entertained, sang well and
gave his all. Best by far!
Can’t wait to find out who made it into the Top 12!
Enzer’s Top 12:- Qaasim; Tyanna; Jax;
Rayvon; Sarina-Joi; Alexis; Nick; Mark; Adam; Clark; Adanna; Loren
