HOT ON TV

Ladies and gentlemen – it’s official!

This Is Us, a compelling dramedy (comedy drama) which began airing on NBC in September is MUST SEE TV.

Does the show really need an introduction?

Getting that show on-the-air was one of the best decisions Hollywood execs ever made. The intriguing storylines swiftly drift back and forth in time and connect in such a way that I feel abandoned when each episode ends. This has to be what they refer to as outstanding because the series is perfect.

What about the cast?

Well, Mandy Moore plays the role of Rebecca (both young and older) and is killing it! The last time I watched her on screen (well that’s the last role I remember) was when she played the role of Jamie in the film A Time to Remember. Her acting style hasn’t changed but the show would lack something if she wasn’t part of it. Another actor to look out for is Milo Ventimiglia who plays the role of Jack and is the hottest guy on TV right now. Looks aside, he is not the most talented actor but his role doesn’t let him down.
The rest of the cast are good, I don’t believe they are outstanding but at least I can’t easily spot any flaws. Oh and I’m happy to see Justin Hartley (Kevin) back on the small screen. He’s pretty face is definitely a TV wonder.

I’m glad NBC got it right this time. I’d be sad to hear that the show won’t be renewed for a second season. #FingersCrossed

HOTTER:

The 2016 American Music Awards (AMAs) were held in L.A. this past Sunday and aired live on ABC. The event had a star studded lineup (as usual) but it lacked the energy that previous telecasts possessed. Could it be that Trump’s win is still a touchy subject amongst Hollywood celebs? Well, I wish I was able to read their minds to know what had them in a somber mood that night. *sigh*

Jay Pharoah and Gigi Hadid hosted the show. I enjoyed watching both of them but I still feel that they only got the job because they are popular and good for TV which equals high ratings and a large profit which is what this is all about at the end of the day - blah, blah, blah. However, Gigi improved, I would love for her to host another awards ceremony. Jay was nervous at the beginning but luckily he got into the groove later on in the show and sealed the deal.

The performances were okay, nothing to complain about except for Bruno Mars. He is an amazing performer but I’m getting tired of listening to his latest hit 24K Magic. If he opens the next Grammy Awards or the upcoming People’s Choice Awards, my head will blow up – please stop. The finale was wack! I expected fireworks from Maroon 5 and Kendrick Lamar! Thank God their song Don’t Wanna Know is on repeat – Thank God!

THROWBACK:

Earlier this month, The 2016 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) were handed out in Rotterdam and the ceremony was hosted by Bebe Rexha. The show was borderline boring and lacked the excitement that makes the EMAs the EMAs. The show seems to be getting worse – I’m worried. I did, however, marvel at the stage and I also loved the theme of the night. Hiring Bebe was not a mistake, I hope the producers continue blessing us with new on screen faces because to be honest, it works.

IN THE NEWS

Donald John Trump will be the next U.S. president! Some people are mad about that whilst some couldn’t be happier (obviously). Many of the U.S.’s allies and trading partners weren’t so pleased with the Electoral College’s decision but with Trump’s change of attitude that has been generating more annoying headlines, I’m sure his camp has somewhat toned it down. Am I worried about America’s success? Not at all, I mean, the U.S. is a mighty country that creates nations and is capable of going at it alone. If there are states to worry about, it’s the smaller ‘dependants’. As for the undocumented immigrants, the U.N. has to step in. I am not ready to talk about what is wrong and what should change between the ‘north’ and ‘south’ because I would be wasting my time. Politicians have been talking about that problem in fancy halls during over-celebrated weeks that cost the tax payer millions for years now. This may sound naïve, but it seems like prayer is the only hope left.
