#TheRoundUp By Enzer - No. 56

SPEAK OUT

#Celebs

Enzer’s World (E.W.)’s Top Celeb Couple for the 6th E.W. Year defines #RelationshipGoals, #FamilyGoals, #CareerGoals - you name them. I know that they are ‘everywhere’ and that their relationship is probably exhausted from all of the media attention it receives (well, according to a few interlopers, LOL) but I cannot help but look to them for inspiration, especially during times when Cupid feels like launching those infectious arrows of his. Their relationship gives new meanings to expressions which degrade fairy-tale-like romance and their joint success makes them the ultimate role models in the world of coupling. Bravo Beyonce & Jay-Z!

Another couple which stands out these days as one of pop music’s chart-topping acts of the decade is E.W.’s Top Celeb Duo for the 6th E.W. Year, popularly known as The Chainsmokers. These handsome dudes make the most awesome tunes, possess an impressive work ethic, and are not yet done entertaining the masses. I #TOTALLY feel like high-fiving them right about now.

“Don’t hold on to a grudge too long, the weight becomes impossible to carry.” – ZULU PROVERB

“Most people have no idea of the giant capacity we can immediately command when we focus all of our resources on mastering a single area of our lives.” – ANTHONY ROBBINS

“Procrastination is the thief of time.” – UNKNOWN

HOT ON TV

There is this new comedy on ABC about a bunch of single parents which I feel is already dying a slow death. Single Parents premiered in September as another addition to ABC’s comedy lineup, and I do not have a lot of good things to say about it. Why is it even HOT ON TV? Well, that happened because it’s an ABC comedy series, and as far as I’m concerned, ABC has been killing it, until Single Parents happened. #Next

HOTTER:

The CMA Awards aired live on ABC from Nashville and were hosted, once again by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley (their jokes were a hit, by the way).
The ceremony was not the best (if we were to look back at other CMAs), however, I did stay glued to my screen for the most part. The glittering ceremony showcased country music which I’m sure many splurged on after the show was over, and truly deserves to be commended for making the countryside culture feel like home.
Yes, I will be watching the next one too.

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show returned to the Big Apple and aired on ABC in December. The beautiful models, the performing artists, the stage and the television production in its entirety were astounding! It’s a shame that the television broadcast had disappointing ratings because the production was flawless. #NoDoubt

The 2019 Golden Globe Awards were another recent television shocker. The ceremony was hosted by Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh (LOL, I just love her last name). Everything seemed to be in place and everyone seemed to be in a good mood (it must’ve been a good year). I really hope Sandra gets to host alone sometime soon. She out shined Andy throughout most of the segments and showed how appreciative she was of the honor of hosting, unlike Andy who seemed a little bored. It might just be me…

WEB TV:
Skinny Girl in Transit is a drama series which follows the love lives of a group of young and power-hungry Lagosians. A distinguishing aspect of the show is the non-satirical couple’s therapy/marriage counseling sessions which have made for great TV. Catch it if you can.

A.I. UPDATE:
The second season of American Idol (A.I.) on ABC begins in March.

Here’s what I am expecting: a more prepared group of finalists, less of the judges’ childish games and pranks on each other, a better stage for the live rounds, a memorable finale, bittersweet eliminations versus bland cutoff segments, more appearances by former contestants, more creatively produced audition rounds and a taller Ryan Seacrest (LOL).

#EnzerLovesIdol

E.W. GLOBAL:
Asia’s Next Top Model, airing on Fox Life, is a reality television series which lovers of fashion and style will fall in love with, instantly. The sixth season concluded its search in October and rumor has it that the next season will feature both aspiring male and female models. #NotToBeMissed

THROWBACK:
I am seriously thinking about binge-watching episodes of the hit Showtime series Soul Food which aired on the network for four uninterrupted years. This show gets mad credit because it introduced us to talented actors that have become mainstream stars and intelligently tackled issues we usually sweep under the rug. I’ll be eagerly waiting for your watch party request, thank you very much.
